Ariel Winter is an American vocalist, actress and actor. She was born Ariel Winter Workman in Los Angeles California on the 28th of January 1998. Ariel started her acting career at a young age, starring in an Cool Whip commercial at age 6. At the age of 7 Ariel landed her first television role on the CBS popular sitcom, Listen Up! Later on, she played in the likes of Monk Bones or ER. The year 2007 saw her debut as Gretchen on her role on the Disney Original Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb. Two years later she had her breakthrough live-action character in the role of Alex Dunphy on the hit television series Modern Family. Along with her Modern Family co-stars, she received four Screen Actors Guild Awards for the best performance of an ensemble in the comedy show. Ariel continues to do voice-over work on films such as ParaNorman Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright. Ariel is a Taekwondo purple belt. Ariel is the younger sister of Shanelle Workman (actor) and Jimmy Workman (actor). She is a performer with her own group WickedSweet.
