At 19 years old at the time, she dropped Here, her first single. The song was an instant success and was praised by the public and from critics. The single peaked at 19th in both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone listed the hit as among most popular Songs of 2015. In that same year she released her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks which peaked on the Billboard charts. This includes The Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. The track is special because, based on her interview with Rap-Up that she conducted, many of the listeners could relate to her experience in learning to love themselves as well as doubting herself. Cara's music is known to be filled with messages of kindness self-love, self-love and mental wellness. Her music is an expression of her own personal struggles with insomnia and mental health. According to a Reuters interview, her album has been described as a semi-tumultuous and half-perfected. The growth of her career was helped by therapy. She encourages others who need help to seek help. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. Her birth date was July 11, 1996 to parents with Italian origins. Her parents gifted her with a guitar when she was 10 and this led to her passion for music. She began to cover the songs she loved at 13 to prove to the world she could sing and had the determination required to be a singer. Sweater Weather was the most popular song. A record label, EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her write songs.
